Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Being in Vegas for work is the ultimate oxymoron, but work doesn’t feel like work when you’re with JBL. For the first time ever, JBL teamed up with their ambassadors from all over the world to celebrate the power and legacy of JBL at the JBL Fest. Think Quincy Jones, Demi Lovato, DNCE, Ivan Dorn, Flo Rida plus 500 VIP guests (Kate Upton, Josh Peck, Kenny Smith, Kendra Wilkinson, Tigerlily to name a few) from 31 countries all over the world as well as more than 2,000 consumers—I knew it was going to be one memorable weekend. When I found out that I was one of the influencers they’ll be flying to Las Vegas for the festival, I had to refresh my browser and re-read the invitation a couple of times. Pinch me, I’m going to Vegas!
A few weeks before the trip, I found out that I was going to be the Filipino media representative along with Verniece Enciso (of course she had to bring her sister Vern, they’re inseparable lol), both are good friends of mine and easily one of my favorite people in the industry. With that, I knew that we were in for an exciting trip. It was going to be twice the fun in Sin City.

We embarked on a 16-hour flight from Manila to Las Vegas. Of course, I had my JBL headphones to keep me company for the long haul flight. Upon arriving in the party capital of the world, that’s when it all sinked in. I’m in freaking Vegas!

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine of staying at the Hard Rock Hotel—in Vegas! It makes perfect sense as 80% of the JBL events were held in the hotel. Just by staying here, I felt like I was able to grasp what’s it like in the entertainment capital of the world. Imagine waking up at 2pm, hungover, looking out your window and seeing a party happening early in the afternoon. It was madness. The Hard Rock Hotel was designed with the rock-star lifestyle in mind—think thematic decor, leather, wood and silver-studded details, JBL speakers everywhere (you can even borrow the portable speakers and headphones). Head downstairs and you would see slot machines, card tables, dancers swinging from the ceilings. The Vanity Nightclub was our hub for our entire stay. Here we can go anytime, get a massage, eat the best gourmet food Vegas has to offer, mixologists serving us specially crafted cocktails, an Oxygen bar where you can cure your hangover and get curated merch from JBL. Head outside and you would come across a 3-acre outdoor pool complex which hosts parties with world-famous musicians. You can bring your drinks to the pool, heck, you can even play blackjack at the pool bar area! That’s Vegas for you.

JBL kicked of the festival with a bang by throwing a party hosted by Quincy Jones. Yup. Quincy freaking Jones. If you guys don’t know who he is—Quincy Jones was the composer and record producer for legendary musicians such as Frank Sinatra, Micheal Jackson, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin and many more. The 79 time Grammy nominated and 29 time winning artist greeted the crowd while Skylar Grey serenaded us with an acoustic set of some of her greatest chart toppers from “I’m Coming Home” to “I Love the Way You Lie.” This was a party only JBL Fest attendees have access to. Held at the Hyde Bellagio, we had a crazy fun time dancing our hearts out while enjoying a picturesque view of the iconic Fountains of Bellagio.

Woke up around 1 in the afternoon (hangovers and jetlag don’t mix well) to find the JBL Poolside party already happening at the infamous Rehab Beach Club! Good thing the party was just right at the hotel! I headed down and really got to experience what’s it really like to party in Vegas. The day full of nonstop entertainment with performances by Dame D.O.L.L.A. (NBA superstar Damian Lillard), Ivan Dorn and Flo Rida. I felt like I was in a rap music video or an episode of MTV Spring Break. That’s how crazy the party was! You guys have to watch my vlog about it soon!

Since the past few days were all about the crazy parties, JBL wanted us to relax and recover at the JBL Backyard Oasis. Located just outside the Nirvana Pool at The Hard Rock Hotel, we got the whole afternoon to just lounge around, eat amazing food from food trucks all over the venue, play some really fun games, try out a bunch of JBL products, enjoy live musical performances from JBL’s unsigned band contest winners, get curated JBL merch and just have a break from all the parties.

JBL rounded out the weekend with a special performance by Demi Lovato and DNCE (featuring Joe Jonas). I was hoping they’d sing “We Rock” and “This is Me” but that was my Camp Rock heart talking lol. On a more serious note, it was the perfect way to end the JBL fest! DNCE opened the show with hits like “Cake by the Ocean” and “Toothbrush.” Damn, they know how to give a good show! Ending the JBL Fest was Demi Lovato who performed her new song “Sorry Not Sorry” for the first time and concluded the JBL Fest with her hit “Cool for the Summer.”
