Location: Manila, Philippines

I have a love-hate relationship with dentists. I remember being a kid and always looking forward to going to the dentist because every after appointments, the dentist asks me to open the “treasure chest” (it’s a legit treasure chest btw)—and the dentist would ask me to choose any item I want from the treasure chest. I would always go for a plastic balloon or a yoyo. Fast forward to my teenage years and everything was the complete opposite—I would dread going to the dentist. Most especially when I got my braces on. The only thing exciting about it for me was choosing the color of the elastics, haha! Other than that, everything else was nothing but a nightmare.

Now that I am in my late twenties, I have come to realize the importance of taking care of my teeth.

Our teeth vary in shape and size (each of them do many different jobs). They help us to chew and digest the food the we eat, they help us talk, socialize, pronounce different sounds clearly, they even help give our face its shape. Now, that’s how far I can go from sounding technical (lol), but basically, a healthy smile can be such a great asset—this is why it just makes sense to give our teeth the best care possible.

I started going to GAOC Dental (Gan Advanced Osseointegration Center) early last year and it was easily one of the best decisions I have ever made (high five, self). Why? Scroll down to find out!

Location, location, location. I can’t stress enough how important this is for me. Fun fact, I had braces for 6 years. 6 freaking dreadful years! One of the reasons why it took that long because I was too lazy to go to my appointments (isn’t laziness always the enemy? lol). I was scheduled to go every Sunday and I would always dread going to the dentist because duh, Sundays are best spent sleeping (who agrees with me?), I also didn’t look forward to the long queues and to add to that, the clinic was so far from my place. This is why GAOC is perfect because they have clinics strategically located all over Manila. I live so near Trinoma and the gym that I go to is right across GAOC. Now, I don’t have an excuse not to go to my dentist appointment. Haha! GAOC has branches at The Residences (Greenbelt), Trinoma, Medical Plaza, St. Luke’s, S Maison (Conrad Hotel), Robinsons Magnolia, Filinvest Alabang and now they have one in Cebu!

I love companies who go the extra mile to make sure their clients/customers have the best possible experience. It’s as if like GAOC understands the pain of every client who dread going to the dentist. With that, GAOC turned the table around and made sure that each client has a pleasant and enjoyable dentist appointment. Once you arrive at GAOC, the courteous staff will offer you coffee, juice, iced tea, etc. If you arrive too early for your appointment, you can choose from a great selection of magazines—or you can watch a movie they’re showing at the lobby. Once it’s your turn, the dentist welcomes you to your room and they give you a tablet for you to choose what movies you want to watch. They have a pretty impressive selection of films. If you don’t fancy watching a movie, you can choose a song or a playlist you want to be played while having your operation/dental procedure. Now doesn’t that make your dental visit bearable?

I just had my tooth extracted a week ago (no travel nor exercise for me for two weeks) and so it was my first time to visit the operating rooms and boy, it was sleek AF! Sadly I wasn’t able to take any photos because my nerves got the best of me (lol just being honest here). The operating room was spacious, clinical, minimal and very cozy to say the least! GAOC also has an on-site laboratory which houses many of the latest and most accurate tools in the market today. This effectively lessens the waiting time for its clients—what usually takes ordinary clinics to produce in three weeks, GAOC can produce in just a few days! For minor oral surgeries such as wisdom tooth removal, periodontal surgeries, and cyst removals, GAOC installed the most advanced equipment to ensure that the most complex procedures are handled perfectly.

In a nutshell, GAOC is a world class dental treatment center in the Philippines that offers technologically advanced techniques and services in oral diagnostic and surgical procedures, dental implantology, and jaw reconstruction. From conventional checkups to the most complicated oral rehabilitation procedures, GAOC is fully equipped to handle stringent dental requirements of its Philippine-based patients and medical tourists. It is basically a one-stop shop for all your oral heath needs! My favorite part about GAOC (aside from the complimentary coffee and selection of movies) is the X-ray room. It basically provides a 360 degree view of ones mouth. They make you wear this weighted vest, make you bite this thing and leave you alone in the room with your eyes closed. The next thing you know, you can hear machines going around you. GAOC is from the future, I tell you! Haha! I also have this weird tooth that is not in line with my upper palate (not sure if I’m using the right dental terms lol). It was bothering me for almost 10 years and the day finally came that I decided to have them taken out. Using the on-site X-Ray that they have, GAOC was able to produce a 3D scale of my teeth (in a span of 5 minutes or less) so they were able to study it and see how they can extract the tooth without hitting the other teeth plus my gums. I was impressed as to how quick and efficient the whole process was!

The best dental experience is the one wherein you just sit back, relax and let the dentist do all the work. No need to be anxious or nervous.
