Hey guys! I am back with another Manila style guide—I am so thrilled to know that you guys find these kind of posts helpful. I did not travel internationally for a month, which meant it was all work work work in Manila for me. To make my time productive in the city, I decided to document my daily looks to help you guys out! I am happy to know that the looks I’ve been posting has been helping you step up your game in dressing up—may it be for school, work or just a casual day out in the city. This week has been a crazy rollercoaster ride for me—trying to finish deadlines, meeting clients, attending events, creating content—but that shouldn’t hinder you from looking your absolute best.

For today’s blog post, I will be throwing in a good mix of outfits suited for Manila’s bipolar weather.

The first 4 looks are suited for the more rainy, chilly days. While the last 3 looks are more for the sunny, laidback days in the city. I know, spending a week in Manila can either be fun, inspiring and productive but it can also be stressful, frustrating and draining. Start dressing right and you will see how something so simple can change your mood—even your perspective on things. With that, I decided to do this quick and easy style guide on how you can make the most out of your week and how you can look stylish while conquering it. Personally, style guides have been so helpful for me so I thought it would be cool to do one on this platform. Keep in mind that all the items/pieces that I featured on this blog post can be found in the malls of Manila. If you want to know where exactly I got them, you can comment below and I’ll reply as quickly as I can. Let’s get right to it!

This is a disclaimer telling you that most of the looks I wore this week are all “street”—nothing remotely office-friendly. You can check my previous blog post if you’re looking for more business casual outfit ideas. Moving on, I got this beautiful striped jacket and trousers from Topman the day before I decided to wear them. When I saw them from the racks, I knew I just had to get them! Paired it with a plain white shirt, white socks and white sneakers for a more sporty/casual vibe. What do you guys think of this look?

Okay, I have mixed feelings about this outfit. Not going to lie, I am obsessed with this track pant trend—I think it’s a fun and easy way to dress up any outfit, but what do you guys think about matching sets? I felt like a P.E. teacher at some point, but it’s all about confidence. I wore this to a fashion event (with no idea what the dress code was lol) but I think I managed to pull it off—did I? Please tell me I did. Haha! This look is a win-win for me, first, it’s in navy blue (my favorite color), second, the vertical stripes on the side just gave me 3 extra inches of height! Ha! Would you wear something like this?

Serving some serious James Dean/Grease vibes here. I am not fond of anything with a checkered flag print on ‘em but when I saw this at Forever 21, I had second thoughts. Good thing I got it on sale so I didn’t feel so bad, haha! I haven’t exactly wore this around Manila yet because I didn’t want to die from heatstroke, I only got to wear this in the hotel I was staying in—which was perfect because all their tiles had the same print as my jacket! If you have a leather jacket like this (or a leather jacket in general), keep everything else minimal and let the jacket speak for itself. Decided to wear my good old Dr Martens shoes for a classic vibe.

I attended an event with the dress code “pastel.” Knowing that I currently don’t own anything pastel (since I sell my pre-loved clothes online lol), I decided to go for this light-colored look. I’m glad I didn’t buy a pastel pink or green outfit and just settled for nude and white tones—it definitely looks more masculine. I was happy with how it turned out! If you want to achieve the same look, gather all your light-colored pieces and work your way from there.

It’s Fri-yay! Here is a classic David Guison style combo that will never fail you. Since we live in a tropical country, why not let that reflect in your style choices? I wore this beautiful silk button down for an event. Instead of the usual printed button down, I elevated the look with this silk number. I love this because when you have a long day ahead of you, silk does not crease easily—which is perfect for traveling as well. However, it might take you a while to get used to this trend…as it can be a pretty bold choice for the average guy. Go for a cool, laidback vibe and pair it with a white tank top, trousers and your favorite specs or sunnies. Otherwise, when not style the right way, you can end up looking like a D.I. (dance instructor lol)

Happy weekend! I know I wore this outfit countless times (read here) but it seemed like the perfect style choice when you want to inject some color into your look. Went for my go-to look: printed button down + white tank top + tote bag + trousers. This time, I wore jeans just because I finally found the jeans I’ve been looking for! Haha! You see, I have a lot of jeans at home but this pair is the only one that fits me perfectly. All the other ones are either really skinny, does not fit me anymore or makes me look 5 inches smaller. If you’re looking for a good pair of jeans, I suggest you get the tapered ones from Uniqlo!

Stop and smell the flowers—Sunday is weekend market day! Went for an easy, laidback look today, only wearing tan/brown tones from my button, my sunnies and down to my bag. Don’t you love visiting weekend markets? It’s the perfect commencement of the weekend. The slow and quiet mornings, followed by a visit to your favorite weekend market. Oh god, what happened to me? Last year, my idea of a perfect weekend was sleeping in, trying to cure a hangover. I guess I really am getting old! Haha! Which look is your favorite? Comment it down below! Have a great week ahead!
