When you live such a fast-paced lifestyle, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and forget the little things. We often lose ourselves trying to keep up—but what we don’t realize is that sometimes, the little things are the ones that matter the most.

I’ve always been an optimistic person. My family and friends know that I’m super chill when it comes to handling situations. I don’t like complaining. I always try to look at the positive side of things—sometimes it can be a bad thing but most of the time, it has kept me grounded and grateful always.

This is because I always take the time to appreciate the little things in life. Whenever I book a big project, made it safe to a new country, or all the members of my family are safe and sound in our home, I say a little prayer and thank God. When people are not grateful they tend to complain—and that’s not a healthy mindset. There are so many things to be thankful for. Even our simplest abilities—breathing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, just being alive is a blessing itself. Sometimes we don’t get to appreciate these things because we are so preoccupied with our own personal battles. Blessings, indeed, surround us everyday.

You might be wondering why I’m melodramatic and all? I grabbed City Blends coffee at 7 Eleven (which is the nearest convenience store from my place) this morning, went in the car and drove to a meeting. While stuck in traffic, I realized that the coffee cup has a “I’m thankful for _______” written on it.

It really made me reflect on who or what I’m grateful for.

Late last year I decided to put up a “personal” tab on my blog wherein I can write about my thoughts, feelings and share things that I won’t share in an outfit post (lol). I started with a “10 Awesome Things this Week” series wherein I would jot down ten good things that happened that week. It was a win-win on both my readers and I because it really made me reflect on the things I should be thankful for. Not only that, it inspired my readers to do the same.

So why not do that again? City Blends, the proprietary coffee brand of 7-Eleven is giving back to the coffee industry by helping out the local coffee farmers. City Blends released 3 new cup designs to take a moment to celebrate love (red), life (green) or anything under the sun (brown). Fun fact, the design on the lower part is actually a story of a bean to cup, even featuring the local coffee farmers! With every cup sold, P0.50 goes to Foundation for Sustainable Coffee Excellence (FSCE), a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a better and more sustainable local coffee industry. Funds raised through this campaign will help supply our local coffee farmers with various post-harvest facilities to help speed up production.

Here’s my challenge to you, buy a Cup of Thankful, write down on the cup what you are grateful for and post it online. Take some time today, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, to come up with a gratitude list!
