Annyeong-haseyo! Did I say that right? Well, I have another food-related blog post for you guys today! This year I’m going to feature a bunch of restaurants, bars and cafes that I really like or recently discovered. This time, I’m putting the spotlight on Rock & Seoul. I came across this new hip and happening restaurant at SM North The Block (pretty much 5 minutes away from my parent’s house) a couple of months ago. They have this new area where the grocery is wherein they opened a bunch of new shops and restaurants. On that particular day, I was craving for Korean cuisine, so I asked my family if we could try it out. Not gonna lie, the cool interiors really pulled me inside the restaurant.

Let me talk about some of my favorite dishes. First is, of course, the classic Bibimbap. Think of bibimbap as the cooler cousin of fried rice–it’s familiar and comforting but with a Korean kick. Steaming hot rice is surrounded by your choice of meat, sautéed vegetables, and topped with a bright egg cooked sunny side up. The whole thing is drizzled with gochujang (aka hot pepper paste) and finished with a pat of Rock & Seoul’s spicy kimchi butter.

Mix as you like and bibimbap till you drop! Not to mention my favorite—the part where the rice sticks to the bottom of the sizzling plate and gets a little burnt and crunchy. Yum!

Here’s a few more dishes you should definitley try: Crispy Chicken Melt: bring your crazy cheese dreams to life with one of our newest bestsellers at R&S! Your favorite korean fried chicken, smothered in our signature cheese sauce. Finished off with torched cheddar cheese on top! Oh God, my mouth is watering as I type this. Gahh. Moving on, The Ramyeon: rich broth is flavored with chili and Korean spices before being topped with generous servings of sirloin beef, squid, seaweed and corn. Mix with egg for an even tastier experience! For drinks, I highly recommend the Lychee Yakult. Surprise yourself with this blend of milky Yakult and the sweet, floral noted of lychee syrup. For dessert, the Charcoal Waffles is a must. Rock & Seoul’s top dessert features a charcoal waffle topped with a scoop of green tea or vanilla ice cream. order it, Instagram it! Are you craving for some bibimbap now?
