Ahhh, 2016. Where do I even begin? For many of us, the end of the year brings on reflection about the past 12 months. It’s a great time to look back at what went well and what didn’t this year. My 2016 was filled with highs and lows, success and failures, happy moments and disappointments—I can say that this year was definitely a rollercoaster ride. I got to meet so many amazing people in the industry and make new friends, work with some of my dream brands/companies, took on one of the most challenging projects of my career, tick off some of my dream travel destinations, do solo traveling for the first time, explore a new platform (Youtube), fall in love and spend quality time with people who matter most.
Whenever another year comes to an end, I always ask myself: “Did I make progress this year? Did I learn a new skill? Did I take risks? Did I make an impact on someone’s life? Did I make myself proud?”
These are the questions I ask myself, making sure that I improve every year. The more improvements I make, the more contented I am and the more I can make room for more opportunities to enter my life. Looking back at 2016, I encountered a ton of challenges but at the end of the year, it has been a heck of an awesome year. Remember, it’s better to look back on life and say: “I can’t believe I did that” than to look back and say: “I wish I did that.”
Let me share with you a recap of how my year went. Making this blog post made me a little emotional because it brought me back to a lot of memories—good and bad. You know me, as much as I love talking about my challenges/difficulties with you guys, I make sure to keep it positive on the blog. So with that, here’s a little year-end recap of how my 2016 went. I’m crazy excited for what 2017 has in store for me. I sincerely hope you guys have the most amazing year yet. Happy New Year!
Cheers to meeting more amazing people, making new friends, trying out new restaurants, watching new movies, traveling to new places, learning a new culture, having a conversation with a stranger, trying new things, making new mistakes (and learning from them), making real connections and making more amazing memories.
It’s going to be a kick ass year.
