Filipinos love flocking to malls at any given day…so imagine how happy the Cabanatueños were when they found out that SM has found a spankin’ new home—right at the heart of Nueva Ecijia. With growing demands for high quality shopping experience in Central Luzon, SM City Cabanatuan finally opened to provide convenient and affordable shopping experience not just for locals, but for tourists alike.
I was very eager when I found out that I will be going to Nueva Ecija for the blessing of SM City Cabanatuan. After a 3-hour drive (and a few mishaps), we finally made it just in time for the opening. Upon arriving at the mall, I noticed the standard yet innovative architecture of SM but what really stood out for me is their clean, well-lit and secured environment. There are a lot of cool spots to hang out and take tons of photos (I recommend the roof park). The mall’s Roof Park is a fully air conditioned indoor park and playground with waterscapes and lush land that is surrounded by restaurants. It is the perfect place to dine and unwind with your family and friends. Props to SM for doing this because they could’ve used the space to house more shops are restaurants but they made it into an indoor park! Which is very smart because I only know a few people who are willing to go to parks in this heat.
SM City Cabanatuan also has the Garden Park, which is an immaculately landscaped outdoor garden with canopied walkways. Locals and tourists may enjoy a hot coffee or a sumptuous bite in this park within the mall. Aside from these distinctive features, the mall is also bursting with a variety of shops like the mall’s anchor tenants – The SM Store, SM Supermarket, SM Appliance Center, Ace Hardware, and Watsons, among others. SM City Cabanatuan is also packed with wide variety of food stalls and restaurants, some located at the third floor. Among the food concepts are home-grown Vicenticos, Desserts Chalet and Leticia’s Breads and Cakes, international brands such as Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, BonChon and Kenny Rogers to name a few. Oh and they’ll be opening Cakeland soon! I know this is a classic favorite of Cabanatueños as I heard that almost everyone grew up eating Cakeland pastries! On the other hand, locals and tourists may also shop and visit the technology center of the mall, Cyberzone, at the second level. Moviegoers will get the chance to see the newest local and international films at convenient schedules because of the mall’s six (6) digital cinemas.
In addition, SM City Cabanatuan can also accommodate hundreds of motorists and tourists from neighboring cities and provinces since the mall has 2,058 parking spaces and 476 motorcycle parking slots. It is also widely accessible. A Jeepney terminal, traveling to and from the mall to various points in the city, and bus terminal, traveling to and from the mall and nearby cities and provinces, are available. Strategically located in the central business district of Nueva Ecija, SM City Cabanatuan is also minutes away from educational institutions, banks, hospitals and medical facilities, hotels and inns, residential subdivisions, business establishments and government offices. It is also near major thoroughfares and efficiently accessible via public access roads like North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX). I should stop blabbering here and give you a sneak peek on what you can find at SM City Cabanatuan.
