HOW TO WEAR BLACK DURING THE SUMMER (AND NOT DIE)

Location: SINGAPORE

As much as I love a good, light and breezy summer ensemble, it’s nearly impossible for me to avoid the urge to throw in a few black pieces as well–even during the hottest months of the year. It’s a color I’m most comfortable with and I can’t seem to let it go. For such a hot and humid city like Singapore, I decided to try this breezy all-black outfit. Although the darkest shade in the book gets a bad reputation for not being summer-appropriate, the trick to wearing black in the summer is all in the fabrics you choose. I sticked to light cotton and added a few details to make the look a little more interesting.

I wore this to Halloween Horror Nights 5 at Universal Studios Singapore and I thought it would be fitting to wear an all-black outfit. But take not, just because this is an after-dark event, doesn’t mean you’ll be spared the humidity and heat. Dress lightly with comfortable shoes for walking.
