It all started with a simple idea: obsession. Since its debut in 1917, the Chuck Taylor All Star has become one of the world’s most celebrated sneakers, with fans, artists and musicians adopting the brand as a badge of creativity and self-expression. In creating the Chuck II, Converse obsessed over creative spirits around the world joining them on tour, in concert halls and art studios, on sidewalks and at all-night parties, and realized they wanted more. The Chuck Taylor All Star II is designed to meet the demands of the creative lifestyle and is built for the next generation of self-expression. Now, this beloved classic receives an innovative refresh, with product enhancements that stay true to the time-honored aesthetic while also providing modern comfort solutions in a premium execution. The Chuck II retains the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette but with a Nike Lunarlon sockliner for cushioning and arch support. Micro-suede lining, premium canvas construction and a padded, non-slip tongue deliver superior comfort and durability. Molded eyelets add a premium touch. The embossed, screen-printed license plate and embroidered, star-centered ankle patch add striking depth and dimension to recognizable, classic details.

I flew to Shanghai, China for the launch  of The Chuck II. Held at the Shanghai Stadium, the launch stayed true to the core of the brand’s philosophy and in a true Converse fashion, the event was packed with live music, a visual display of amazing artworks by renowned Philadelphia street painter Stephen Powers (ESPO) and graffiti artist KRINK. The guests were encouraged to wear hazmat suits, goggles and masks for a paint party! We had tons of fun shooting paint using these really cool fire extinguishers and paint-filled water balloons. It was a riot, alright.
