Marks & Spencer has always been my parents’ go-to store when they shop for clothes. When I tag along I usually go straight to the chocolate section (lol don’t judge me). I’ve always had this mindset that M&S is suited for the older market. When Marks & Spencer opened their 23rd store in the country at Central Square in Bonifacio Hight Street Central, I made sure I would go to check out what’s in store this season.
M&S kicked off the store opening with a Style-Off Competition featuring students from SoFa Design Institute. M&S collaborated with this top fashion school wherein students were asked to submit various looks they can make with M&S clothing given a particular criteria. I was surprised because I got tons of ideas on how to wear the pieces showcased at the fashion show. The style-off showed us that M&S have items that are suited for the younger market. See what went down at the event!
From entries by 40 students, only 8 emerged from SoFa’s initial screening. They are Camille Jasper Go, Jeanne Martinez, Florian Trinidad, Sachi Yuzon, Jill Anne Magsalin, Eugene Ysabel Ignacio, Bengt Enrique, and Hazel Roldan.
As part of their final challenge, the students were asked to come up with five looks: Business Smart, Laidback Weekend, and Night Out for women; and Business Smart and Laidback Weekend for men.
I attended the event with Patty Laurel, Kelly Misa and Camille Co. I’m one lucky guy!
The event was hosted by the beautiful Sarah Meier.
The perfect weekender look: A comfy sweater paired with light-colored chino pants, paired with a brown leather belt and a weekender bag!
The gorgeous panel of judges for the M&S Style-Off Competition, Hindy Weber-Tantoco, Tweetie de Leon-Gonzalez and Apples Aberin.
This look stole the show! I think it really shows what the brand is all about–classy, sophisticated and timeless. Here’s one of the looks styled by the grand winner, Bengt Enrique! He received Php50,000 worth of cash, M&S gift vouchers, and a feature in a magazine. Well-deserved!
The best part of the event? Unlimited Marks & Spencer chocolates!!! A little bird told me that M&S will soon launch its first stand-alone food store in Central Square as well. The 16-seater café will be offering the brand’s specialty coffees, breads, and pastries. Hmmm. Can anyone confirm this? I would be a happy kid!!!
Laureen, Camille and I trying to keep our cool upon seeing huge plates full of M&S chocolates. I wish all events were like this! LOL.
Hoarders unite! We couldn’t even close the boxes. Haha!
Everyone is excited for the opening of the new store! It’s 2 floors of M&S goodness!
Of course, M&S offers a wide selection of button downs and ties.
Love these denim sneakers! Just goes to show that M&S caters to everyone.
M&S has a wide array of jeans and chino pants in different washes and colors! So happy they have slim fit ones!
Colored socks are a huge part of my everyday looks so I freaked out when I saw these. Haha!
I was surprised to see a lot of rucksacks at the store!
M&S is located on the Upper Ground Floor and Second Floor of Central Square, 5th Avenue corner 30th Street, Bonifacio High Street Central in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig.
