I am dedicating several blog posts to document my Hong Kong Disneyland vacation last September 13-15 because I just had the most awesome weekend of my life! Please bear with this long post (It’ll be worth it I promise!) as I’m really excited to share my memorable trip with you all! I’ve been to Disneyland a couple of times but my recent trip to the “happiest place on Earth” was ten times more fun and exciting than my previous trips! I’ll tell you why!
The Disneyland Hotel
First stop: The Crystal Lotus Restaurant in Disneyland Hotel!
So happy to have travelled with the lovely Enciso sisters, Twins Vern and Verniece! As soon as we touched down at the Hong Kong International Airport, we went straight to lunch because we needed to fuel up for a jam packed day of fun and adventure at the park. So we headed to Disneyland Hotel’s award winning Chinese restaurant- Crystal Lotus which serves Disney Character dimsum! Picture worthy and tasty too! It’s worth a try!
The claaaaaawwww! Haha can’t help thinking my chopsticks were “the claw” as I devoured my yummy dimsum platter called “Little Green Men Pork and Vegetable Bun” It’s too nice to eat (but I ate and enjoyed it anyway)
How fancy! Tasmanian crab and pumpkin stuffed in whole crab shell
Hidden mickey in my food! Good attempt to encourage kids to eat their veggies! Ha!
They have character desserts too! Here is the Chilled mango sago cream with pomelo with Duffy red bean puree bun
After our two hour lunch (haha), we finally made our way to the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort for an afternoon of FUN! Did you know that there is a roving shuttle from the Disneyland Hotels to the Disneyland Resort and back? How convenient!
We’re at the happiest place on earth! Look, I’m wearing my Mickey Mouse sweater!
The iconic Flights of Fantasy Parade has seven floats- Mickey’s Magical Airship, Caught Up in Daydreams, Romance Takes Wing, Jumpin’ Jungle Jam, The Magic of Pixie Dust, Hangin’ Ten and Ridin’ High and To Infinity and Beyond. It’s definitely a MUST SEE!
Donald Duck and Goofy- some of the well loved Disney characters
Colorful dances and costumes too! Not to mention, a very talented cast!
My favorite float!
Lady Buzz (lady bug) get it lol
Who doesn’t love Toy Story? The 3rd movie is my personal favorite!
Jessie leading the gang!
Woody is such a celeb! Look at his fans’ small hands! Such cute kids!
Look at Eeyore! He looks shy but very cute!
Real life Disney princesses! (who were all smiles despite the heat). I think I’m in love!
Vern and I enjoying the day so far! Can’t wait to try the rides!
First ride we rode was Space Mountain, a thrilling indoor roller coaster!
I totally enjoyed this ride! In fact, I rode it thrice! Try to sit at the front row seats to get the best experience! And don’t forget to hold on tight because it gets really fast!
Halloween is a big deal here in Disneyland! They went all out this year-the whole park is already adorned with Halloween decorations! If you are planning to visit the park before the year ends, Halloween is a perfect time for you to visit!
Everything is gigantic at the Toy Story Land to make you feel you are one of Andy’s Toys. Pretty cool huh? It’s exclusive in Asia only!
Reach for the Skyyyy!!! This 27 meter high U-shaped roller coaster is my 2nd favorite attraction in Hong Kong Disneyland! I will share what my most favorite ride is later haha! Spot Verniece and I at the last row!
One last photo before we go up in the sky in the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop ride! Decided to just wear a tank top because it was too hot that day!
How cute is this (tastes yummy too)!
Verniece feeling like a kid all over again
Now entering one of Hong Kong Disneyland’s newest attractions, the world exclusive, The Grizzly Gulch (where my favorite ride is!!!)
My absolute favorite ride is the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars! Don’t underestimate this one! Just when you think the ride is over….it will take you by surprise! Absolutely a wild wild (west) ride!
Hong Kong Disneyland is proud to present its latest world exclusive attraction, Mystic Point which consists of Mystic Manor (must ride in your next visit!), Garden of Wonders (check out my Disneyland Day 2 post where I explored this garden), Explorer’s Club Restaurant, The Archive Shop and Mystic Point Freight Depot (where I did most of my outfit shots lol).
It features state-of-the-art technology and meticulous architectural design which transports us into a mysterious journey beyond our imaginations. Enjoy a wide collection of artifacts and crafts from around the world (over 7,000), cultural performances and even purchase exquisite souvenirs.
An original story with Lord Henry as the main character, he is an eccentric explorer and adventurer who has an extensive collection of fine art, antiquities and even some oddities from all around the world. When his companion monkey Albert mischievously opens a newly acquired magical music box releasing the enchanted Music Dust inside, a mysterious journey begins. Cool huh?
This Mystic Magneto-Electric Carriage is one of the most sophisticated rides ever built by Disney. Each carriage can hold six people and four carriages depart at a time to tour different scenes in the Manor. The adventure is approximately five minutes long.
Mystic Manor features state-of-the-art 4K HD cinema projectors to create 40 types of special visual effects. The soundtrack was composed by the Grammy-winning, Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated composer Danny Elfman. Wow!
My favorite gallery is the ‘Mediterranean Antiquities’ where a beautiful young woman suddenly transformed into a snake-haired gorgon. Quite scary!
Some of the interesting characters you will meet at Mystic Point. This new themed area is really worth a visit!
Before leaving the park, we decided to have dinner at Plaza Inn Restaurant. Good food and good spot too! You’ll get a good view of the fireworks!
The Plaza Inn Restaurant’s interiors
Chinese food galore!
Of course, no trip to Hong Kong Disneyland will be complete without seeing the stunning Fireworks display accompanied by well loved Disney music!
A beautiful sight to share with your friends and loved ones!
On board the Disneyland Shuttle en route to our hotel. Look at the tired but happy Enciso sisters!
After a long and tiring day, it’s time to take refuge in our hotel- the Disneyland Hollywood Hotel! For a complete Disneyland experience, check-in either at the Hollywood Hotel or Disneyland Hotel!
Everything had Mickey in it!
A classic picture of Mickey and Minnie Mouse greets you as you enter your room!
See? I told you they love Halloween in Disneyland!
I don’t even want to use them! I’d rather keep them as souvenirs!
Everything in the room was Disney-themed! From the bed sheets, to the toiletries plus the first six TV channels were Disney! It’s so cool! It feels great to be a kid again!
I had an amazing first day in Hong Kong Disneyland! Stay tuned for my Day 2 and 3 posts!
